Add shifts to the roster
Learn about the different types of roster/schedule shifts Aire supports, and how to set each of them up.
ℹ️ This feature is available in the Pro plan.
Add a Multi-block shift (multiple activity types in a shift)
Multi-block shifts are generally used when adding different activity types to one shift (e.g. working hours, lunch breaks, half-day trainings). Multi-block shifts have a ‘clock’ icon on the roster to indicate it’s a multi shift.
- From the Menu, navigate to Employees, then select Roster.
- Select a day under the relevant employee in the roster you want to create a shift for.
- Enter the start and end time of the first part or block of the shift.
- Choose the type of shift block under “Activity” (e.g. Normal (means bookable working time), public holiday, etc.).
- Add a break duration (optional).
- NOTE: Adding a break duration impacts the calculation of how many hours the employee worked when viewing the “Worked hours” in the “Employee Performance” report or Available hours in the “Employee Productivity” report.
- Adding a break duration doesn’t automatically add a break in the Appointment Book for that day.
- Add another block to the shift in the same day.
- Select “Add Shift”.
- Enter the start and end time.
- Choose the type of shift block under “Activity” (e.g. Normal (bookable working time), public holiday, etc.).
- Add a break duration (optional).
- NOTE: Multiple shifts cannot overlap. Each shift must cover a separate time period in a day.
- When you have finished adding all multi-blocks to the shift for that day, press “Done” to save your changes.
Add an All-day shift to the roster (one activity type in a shift)
All day shifts are generally used for creating shifts with only one activity type e.g. when employees may be on holidays, training and other all day type activities.
- From the Menu, navigate to Employees, then select Roster.
- Select a day under the relevant employee in the roster you want to create a shift for.
- All day shifts will use the start and end time entered for your opening hours configured in your Business settings.
- Choose the type of shift block under “Activity” (e.g. Normal (bookable working time), public holiday, etc.).
- Add break duration (optional).
- Press “Done” to save your changes.
