Set Employee Breaks for the Walk-in Manager

The Walk-In Manager tool includes a break feature to help track employee availability, manage wait times, and streamline client service.

Using the Break Feature

Setting a Break

  1. Access the Employee List:
On the top of the screen, you will see a list of employees. Employees actively clocked on will have a green marker next to their names.

  2. Select an Employee:
If an employee wants to go on a break, they simply need to:

    • Click on their name.
    • Choose one of the options on the pull-down menu at the bottom of the screen:
      • Away for a Specified Time: Set a break duration (e.g., 10, 15, 30 minutes). The system will automatically mark the employee as available once the time expires.
      • Away for an Unspecified Time: Mark themselves away without a predefined return time.
  3. Visual Indicators:

    • Employees on break will have an orange marker next to their names.
    • Active employees remain marked with green indicators.

Returning from a Break

  1. Automatic Return:

    • For breaks with a specified time, the system automatically updates the employee’s status to available once the set duration ends.
  2. Manual Return:

    • Employees can end their break early by:
      • Clicking on their name.
      • Selecting Return to resume servicing clients.

Tracking Attendance

To monitor employee clock-in and clock-out activity:

  1. Navigate to the Tools section via the right-hand panel.
  2. Select Attendance.
    • This provides a clear log of each employee's activity, including their break times.

Key Benefits

  • Improved Time Management: Accurate tracking ensures better waitlist and service management.
  • Flexibility: Employees can adjust their availability dynamically based on their needs.
  • Visibility: Managers can easily review attendance and break patterns to ensure fairness and efficiency.
