Stripe enables your clients to make upfront payments seamlessly when booking services online, enhancing convenience and reducing no-shows. Below, we outline the process your clients will follow, key features, and tips for managing upfront payments effectively.

How Clients Make an Upfront Payment

  1. Booking Selection:

    • Clients choose a service, a preferred employee (if applicable), and a date and time for their appointment using your online booking platform or mobile app.
  2. Payment Overview:

    • Clients are presented with:
      • Total service cost.
      • Required upfront payment amount.
      • Remaining balance.
  3. Agreement to Save Payment Details:

    • Clients must agree to save their payment details for future bookings by checking a designated box. This activates the "Confirm and Pay" button.
  4. Payment Submission:

    • Clients enter their card details and click "Pay."
    • Upon successful payment, a confirmation screen is displayed.
  5. Confirmation Email:

    • If enabled, an email is sent to the client detailing their appointment and the upfront payment amount.

Features for Returning Clients

  • Saved Payment Details:
    • After the first payment, card details are securely saved.
    • For future bookings, clients can use the saved card by simply pressing "Confirm and Pay."

How to Identify Upfront Payments in Your System

  • Appointment Book:

    • Appointments with upfront payments are marked with a payment icon.
    • Clicking the appointment displays details, including the upfront payment amount.
  • Transaction List:

    • Upfront payments are automatically added to your point-of-sale transaction list for easy tracking.
