How to Set Up a Multi-Block Service

Multi-block services are a powerful tool to create service packages, streamline scheduling, and manage staff workloads effectively. This guide walks you through setting up a multi-block service, ensuring all steps are clear.

What Is a Multi-Block Service?

A multi-block service allows you to package different service components into a cohesive offering. For instance, a "Full Head Foils Package" might include multiple steps like application, processing time, toner, haircut, and blow-dry.


Step-by-Step Setup

1. Navigate to Services Setup

  • Go to the right-hand side of your dashboard.
  • Select Setup, then click on Services.

2. Create a New Multi-Block Service

  • Choose the category for your package and press New.
  • Enter the package name (e.g., “Full Head Foils Package”).

3. Define Service Blocks

Each block represents a specific step in the service package. Follow these steps for each block:

Block 1: Application of Foils

  • Name: Application of Foils
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Price Allocation: Adjust price if multiple staff members will assist (optional).
  • Reporting Category: Color

Block 2: Processing Time

  • Name: Processing
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Price Allocation: Divide price as needed for staff credit sharing.
  • Reporting Category: Color

Block 3: Toner Application

  • Name: Toner Application
  • Duration: 15 minutes application + 15 minutes processing
  • Price Allocation: Divide price as needed.
  • Reporting Category: Toner/Color

Block 4: Haircut and Blow-Dry

  • Name: Haircut and Blow-Dry
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Reporting Category: Styling

4. Assign Reporting Categories

  • Assign each block to an appropriate reporting category, such as Color, Toner, or Styling.
  • This ensures accurate tracking of services.

5. Review and Finalize

  • Press Done to save the package.
  • Expand the category view to confirm the breakdown of the service into individual blocks.

Booking a Multi-Block Service

When booking:

  1. Select the package (e.g., “Full Head Foils”).
  2. The service will appear with separate time blocks for each step.
  3. For salons with multiple staff, you can adjust block assignments to fit team availability.
