Shortcuts Marketing Plus: How to Send Targeted Campaigns to Clients Based on Their Last Visited Employee
Whether an employee is going on leave or has exciting news to share, this step-by-step guide will show you how to create and send a campaign using Set & Forget Marketing.
Getting Started

Log into Shortcuts Marketing plus
Ensure you are logged in to your account before starting the process. -
Prepare Your Template
- If you haven’t created a template yet, visit the template library to design one.
- Alternatively, use the email creator option, but note that templates created this way won’t be saved to your library.
Step 1: Select and Customize a Template
- Choose a pre-designed template or create a new one.
- Click Edit to make changes to the design. Changes here will only apply to the current campaign and won’t update the saved template.
Step 2: Customize Your Campaign

Add a Subject Line
- Include personalized fields, such as the client’s name, to grab attention.

Check Campaign Settings
- Enable link tracking for performance metrics.
- Use the online viewing option to ensure clients can view the email in their browser if needed.
- Decide if the refer-a-friend link is appropriate for your campaign.

Save and Continue to the next tab.
Step 3: Configure Send Options

Campaign Details
- Name the campaign clearly and ensure it relates to the content.
- Set the sending frequency to "Once Only" and select the date and time for the campaign.

Demographic Criteria
- Enable this option to avoid sending duplicate emails to the same client.

Sender Details
- Confirm and edit the "Sent From" and "Reply To" email addresses if needed.
Step 4: Target Specific Clients

Filter by Employee
- In the Demographics tab, click Add Scenario and select the following:
- Shortcut Software Administration > Demographics > Clients' Last Visit > Employee
- Enter the employee’s alias exactly as it appears in the system (case-sensitive).

Check Recipients
- Use the Check Recipients button to verify the number of clients who will receive the campaign.
Step 5: Optional Add-Ons

Add a Promotion Code
- If your campaign includes a promotion, add a code to track its return on investment.
- If not, simply proceed by clicking Save and Continue.
Step 6: Test Your Campaign

Send a Test Email
- Send a test email to yourself and review it thoroughly.
- Check the subject line, proofread content, test all links, and run a spell check.

Confirm and Activate
- Tick the boxes to confirm the test email checks.
- Double-check the recipient count using the Check Now button.
- When satisfied, press Activate to schedule the campaign for delivery.
