Shortcuts Marketing Plus: How to Send Targeted Campaigns to Clients Based on Their Last Visited Employee

Whether an employee is going on leave or has exciting news to share, this step-by-step guide will show you how to create and send a campaign using Set & Forget Marketing.

Getting Started

  1. Log into Shortcuts Marketing plus
Ensure you are logged in to your account before starting the process.

  2. Prepare Your Template

    • If you haven’t created a template yet, visit the template library to design one.
    • Alternatively, use the email creator option, but note that templates created this way won’t be saved to your library.

Step 1: Select and Customize a Template

  • Choose a pre-designed template or create a new one.
  • Click Edit to make changes to the design. Changes here will only apply to the current campaign and won’t update the saved template.

Step 2: Customize Your Campaign

  1. Add a Subject Line

    • Include personalized fields, such as the client’s name, to grab attention.
  2. Check Campaign Settings

    • Enable link tracking for performance metrics.
    • Use the online viewing option to ensure clients can view the email in their browser if needed.
    • Decide if the refer-a-friend link is appropriate for your campaign.
  3. Save and Continue to the next tab.

Step 3: Configure Send Options

  1. Campaign Details

    • Name the campaign clearly and ensure it relates to the content.
    • Set the sending frequency to "Once Only" and select the date and time for the campaign.
  2. Demographic Criteria

    • Enable this option to avoid sending duplicate emails to the same client.
  3. Sender Details

    • Confirm and edit the "Sent From" and "Reply To" email addresses if needed.

Step 4: Target Specific Clients

  1. Filter by Employee

    • In the Demographics tab, click Add Scenario and select the following:
      • Shortcut Software Administration > Demographics > Clients' Last Visit > Employee
    • Enter the employee’s alias exactly as it appears in the system (case-sensitive).
  2. Check Recipients

    • Use the Check Recipients button to verify the number of clients who will receive the campaign.

Step 5: Optional Add-Ons

  1. Add a Promotion Code

    • If your campaign includes a promotion, add a code to track its return on investment.
    • If not, simply proceed by clicking Save and Continue.

Step 6: Test Your Campaign

  1. Send a Test Email

    • Send a test email to yourself and review it thoroughly.
    • Check the subject line, proofread content, test all links, and run a spell check.
  2. Confirm and Activate

    • Tick the boxes to confirm the test email checks.
    • Double-check the recipient count using the Check Now button.
    • When satisfied, press Activate to schedule the campaign for delivery.
