How to Send an Email to a Targeted List Using Shortcuts and Marketing in the Cloud

This guide outlines the step-by-step process to create and send a targeted email campaign using Shortcuts Fusion and Shortcuts Marketing Cloud. By following this process, you can effectively engage your client base with a personalized email campaign.

Steps to Send a Targeted Email Blast

1. Create and Export a Targeted Client List in Shortcuts Fusion

  • Log in to Shortcuts Fusion and navigate to:
    • Tools → Marketing Icon.
  • Filter Your Client List:
    • Options include:
      • Products/Services Purchased or Not Purchased.
      • Demographics like location, birthday, non-returning clients, and more.
      • Purchase Frequency or Spend Amount.
    • For example, to target non-returning clients:
      • Select a date range, hit Compute, and refine further (e.g., exclude children, clients without emails, or those with future appointments).
  • Save Your List:
    • Click the Save icon, name your list, and save it (e.g., on your desktop) as a .txt file for easy access.

3. Configure Your Email Campaign

  • Select Campaign Type:
    • On the marketing screen, under One-off marketing campaigns choose Targeted Campaign and switch the default SMS option to Email.
  • Setup Email Details:
    • Campaign Name: Internal use only; not visible to clients.
    • Logo and Images: Upload your display logo and/or a banner image (recommended size: 600x300 pixels).
    • Subject Line: Personalize with client-specific fields (e.g., First Name).
    • Email Body: Use dynamic fields and preview the email for formatting.
    • Optional Offer:
      • If offering a discount, create a discount reason in Shortcuts Fusion for tracking ROI.
      • Include clear terms and conditions.
    • Book Now Button: Add or remove as needed. Ensure all links (e.g., social media, booking) are correctly configured.

4. Attach the Client List

  • Use the Choose File option to upload the previously saved client list from Shortcuts Fusion.

5. Test Your Email

  • Send a Test Email to yourself:
    • Verify that:
      • Images display correctly.
      • All links (e.g., Book Now, social icons) work as intended.
      • The unsubscribe option is visible (automatically included).

6. Send Your Email Blast

  • Once satisfied with the test:
    • Review the total number of recipients.
    • Hit Activate to launch your campaign.
