How to Sell and Redeem Online Gift Cards

Online gift cards are a convenient way for your customers to purchase and share thoughtful gifts while boosting your business.

Steps to Set Up:

Website Widget Code:

  1. Go to the Gift Card, Loyalty and Memberships tile in the Shortcuts Customer Console: https://console.shortcutssoftware.com
  2. Navigate to Administration-Program
  3. Edit the digital Gift Card Setup as needed and copy the widget code
  4. Contact your web developer and provide the widget code from Shortcuts.
  5. Once added, customers can purchase gift cards directly from your website.

Customer Experience:

  1. Purchase Process:
    • Customers click the “Buy Gift Card” option on your website.
    • They fill out recipient details, include a personalized message, and press “Pay Now” to finalize the purchase.
  2. Delivery:
    • A scannable gift card with the message is sent to the recipient’s email.
    • The purchaser receives an email receipt.

Redeeming Online Gift Cards

  1. Navigate to the Shortcuts Point-of-Sale
  2. Bring up the clients bill.
  3. Click the Gift / Loyalty payment button and select the Loyalty / Gift Card option.
  4. Scan or Enter Gift Card Details (Use a 2D barcode scanner to scan the gift card from a phone or manually enter the gift card number).
  5. Enter Payment Amount to be paid using the gift card
  6. For any remaining balance, process it as usual using the appropriate payment method.
  7. Select Finish Sale and press Redeem to finalise the gift card payment.
