How to Sell and Redeem a Gift Card

This guide explains the step-by-step process for selling and redeeming a gift card, ensuring a seamless experience for both staff and customers

Selling a Gift Card

  1. Navigate to Point of Sale

    • Open the Point of Sale (POS) system.

    • Click on "New Sale" in the top left corner.

  2. Select a Customer

    • Search for an existing customer by entering their details in the search bar at the top left.

    • Alternatively, add a new customer by clicking "New Client" and entering their information.

    • Once selected, click Next.

  3. Add the Gift Card

    • Click on a sale line and select "Gift Card."

    • Confirm your selection by clicking Done.

    • Enter the desired amount to load onto the gift card.

  4. Process Payment

    • Choose the payment method and take the payment.

    • Click Finish Sale.

  5. Activate the Gift Card

    • Scan the gift card’s barcode.

    • Click Done and then Activate.

  6. Receipt Options

    • Choose how to provide the receipt:

      • Email the receipt to the customer.

      • Print the receipt.

      • Opt for "No Receipt" if not required.

The gift card is now activated and ready for use.


Redeeming a Gift Card

  1. Initiate a Sale

    • Open a new sale in the POS system.

  2. Select Gift Card as Payment Method

    • Click on "Gift Loyalty" and then "Loyalty Gift Card."

    • Scan the barcode of the gift card.

    • Click Done to confirm.

  3. Complete the Sale

    • Process the transaction as usual.

    • Click Finish Sale and then Redeem.

  4. Receipt Options

    • As with selling a gift card, select the receipt option:

      • Email.

      • Print.

      • No receipt if unnecessary.

The gift card balance is now updated, and the sale is complete.
