How to Disable Online Bookings and Pause SMS Confirmations

If you need to temporarily disable your online booking system or pause automated SMS confirmations, follow this step-by-step guide. These instructions are designed to ensure smooth communication with your clients while you make these adjustments.

 

Step 1: Notify Your Clients

Before making changes to your system, inform your clients about the temporary pause in services. Use these methods to send out notifications:

  • Email Campaign: Use your email marketing tool to send a blanket email explaining the situation.
  • SMS Blast: Send an SMS to notify clients promptly.

Providing clear communication ensures your clients are informed and reassured.


Step 2: Pausing SMS Confirmations

You can either pause SMS confirmations entirely or manage them manually.

Option 1: Turn Off SMS Confirmations

  1. Navigate to Setup > Configuration.
  2. Select the General tab and click on Confirmations.
  3. Uncheck the confirmation box to turn off SMS confirmations entirely.

Option 2: Send SMS Confirmations Manually

  1. In the same Confirmations section, click on Configure.
  2. Select Send confirmation requests manually.
    • This keeps SMS confirmations active for receiving replies but allows you to control when they are sent.

Step 3: Disabling Online Bookings

Follow these steps to pause online bookings:

  1. Log in to your console at console.shortcutssoftware.com.
  2. Navigate to the Online Booking tile.
  3. Uncheck the Active Online Booking option and click Save.
    • This deactivates your online booking page.

To reactivate your online booking:

  1. Return to the Online Booking tile.
  2. Check the Active Online Booking box and click Save.

Reactivating SMS Confirmations

When ready to resume automatic SMS confirmations:

  1. Go back to Setup > Configuration > Confirmations.
  2. Re-check the confirmation box and, if needed, reset to automatic.
