Shortcuts Marketing Plus: How to Create and Link Promotion Codes

Promotion codes are a powerful tool to track your return on investment (ROI) for campaigns. This guide explains how to create a promotion code, link it to a campaign, and connect it to a discount reason for seamless marketing and tracking.

Step 1: Create a Promotion Code

  1. Access the Admin Menu:

    • Navigate to the Admin menu and select Promotion Codes.
  2. Create a New Code:

    • Click Create New.
    • Enter the desired promotion code and a description for easy identification.
    • Press Save to store your changes.

Step 2: Link the Promotion Code to a Campaign

  1. Existing Campaigns:

    • Go to the homepage and select Edit a Draft.
    • Open your campaign, click the Promotion Codes tab, and select the relevant code.
  2. New Campaigns:

    • Create a new campaign and navigate to the Promotion Codes tab.
    • Select the desired promotion code and complete the campaign setup as usual.

Step 3: Link the Promotion Code to a Discount Reason in Shortcuts POS

  1. Access the Configuration Menu:

    • Click on the Setup menu and select Configuration.
    • On the left-hand side, choose Discounts and click New.
  2. Set Up the Discount Reason:

    • Name the discount reason and specify the discount amount or percentage.
    • Adjust the credit settings:
      • Leave the checkbox blank if credit should be calculated after the discount is applied.
      • Tick the checkbox if credit should be calculated on the amount before the discount.
    • Choose applicable items (e.g., Services and Series).
    • Tick the box to prevent operators from modifying the discount amount at the point of sale.
  3. Link the Promotion Code:

    • Select the relevant promotion code under the "Set and Forget Promotion" section.
    • Press Save to finalize your changes.
