Shortcuts Marketing Plus: How to Create and Link Promotion Codes
Promotion codes are a powerful tool to track your return on investment (ROI) for campaigns. This guide explains how to create a promotion code, link it to a campaign, and connect it to a discount reason for seamless marketing and tracking.
Step 1: Create a Promotion Code

Access the Admin Menu:
- Navigate to the Admin menu and select Promotion Codes.

Create a New Code:
- Click Create New.
- Enter the desired promotion code and a description for easy identification.
- Press Save to store your changes.
Step 2: Link the Promotion Code to a Campaign

Existing Campaigns:
- Go to the homepage and select Edit a Draft.
- Open your campaign, click the Promotion Codes tab, and select the relevant code.

New Campaigns:
- Create a new campaign and navigate to the Promotion Codes tab.
- Select the desired promotion code and complete the campaign setup as usual.
Step 3: Link the Promotion Code to a Discount Reason in Shortcuts POS

Access the Configuration Menu:
- Click on the Setup menu and select Configuration.
- On the left-hand side, choose Discounts and click New.

Set Up the Discount Reason:
- Name the discount reason and specify the discount amount or percentage.
- Adjust the credit settings:
- Leave the checkbox blank if credit should be calculated after the discount is applied.
- Tick the checkbox if credit should be calculated on the amount before the discount.
- Choose applicable items (e.g., Services and Series).
- Tick the box to prevent operators from modifying the discount amount at the point of sale.

Link the Promotion Code:
- Select the relevant promotion code under the "Set and Forget Promotion" section.
- Press Save to finalize your changes.
