Shortcuts Marketing Plus: How to Create a Once-Only SMS Campaign

Creating an SMS campaign can effectively engage your clients, share news, and promote specials. This guide provides a step-by-step process for setting up a one-time SMS campaign using Shortcuts Marketing Plus

1. Getting Started

  • Log In: Access your Shortcuts Marketing Plus account and select "Create a New Campaign."
  • Choose Campaign Type: Click on SMS to enter the campaign editor.

2. Composing Your SMS

  • Enter Message Content: Use the SMS Content tab to write your message.
  • Use Templates: Access and edit existing SMS templates or create a new one.
  • Personalization: Include personalized fields (e.g., client name) to grab attention, but be mindful of character limits.
  • Business Details: Always include your business name and phone number.
  • Character Limits:
    • Stay within one message (160 characters) to avoid additional charges.
    • The character counter will alert you if you exceed the limit.

Tip: Keep the message concise and actionable.


3. Configuring Send Options

  • Campaign Name: Choose a clear name for internal tracking.
  • Frequency: Select "Once Only."
  • Send Date and Time: Schedule the campaign for a specific date and time.
  • Avoid Duplicates: Enable the option to prevent duplicate messages to the same client.
  • Reply Details: Confirm where replies will be sent.

4. Defining Your Audience

  • Default Audience: Campaigns are sent to all members by default.
  • Targeted Demographics:
    • Add scenarios to narrow the audience (e.g., gender, last visit date).
    • Check recipients to confirm the audience size.
  • Edit or Remove Scenarios: Adjust the targeting as needed.

5. Tracking Promotions

  • Add a Promotion Code: If applicable, link a promotion code to track ROI.
    • Creating a Promotion Code:
      1. Save your campaign and navigate to the admin menu.
      2. Create a new promotion code and save it.
      3. Return to your campaign and select the promotion code.
  • Link to Discounts: In Setup > Configuration, connect the promotion code to a discount reason for tracking.


6. Testing and Activating

  • Send a Test SMS: Send a test message to yourself or others to ensure accuracy.
  • Final Checks:
    • Review SMS content for errors or character limit issues.
    • Verify the number of recipients by clicking "Check Now."
  • Activate Campaign: Once satisfied, activate the campaign for automatic delivery.
