How to check for unredeemed Series and clear them out of the system
How to check for unredeemed series and what to do if you find Series that you do not want customers to redeem.
How check if I have unredeemed Series?
- In your Shortcuts Fusion instance, navigate to Tools > Reports > Business > Series Sales Liability. Once you have selected the Series Sales Liability report, click on ‘View’.
- Don’t make any changes to the Date or Misc settings. Click on ‘View’.
- Export this report to a PDF by clicking ‘Export’. Ensure the format is ‘Acrobat Format (PDF)’, select the location you would like to save the file to (e.g. your computer’s Desktop), then click ‘Ok’.
- You can now access the PDF file from the location that you saved it to.
I’ve found Series I don’t want customers to redeem. Now what?
Once you’ve identified any unredeemed series you don’t want customers to be able to use during Online Booking, follow these steps:
- In your Shortcuts Fusion instance, navigate to Point of Sale, then click on ‘New Sale’.
- Search for the client with the unredeemed Series as identified in your Series Sales Liability report.
- (Optional) Once you have selected a client, click on Client History > History Totals. Here you will be able to see ‘Outstanding Series’ details, including the Purchase and Expiry date. This is helpful for cross-checking your Series Sales Liability report.
- Click on ‘Item’ in the Point of Sale window, select the ‘Business’ Employee, then select ‘Service’. You will be able to select an Outstanding Client Series. Click ‘Done’.
- Click ‘Finish Sale’.
- Repeat for any other Series and customers.
If you have lots of Series that do not have an expiry date and wish to set a date, contact Shortcuts Support via the online form, and we can bulk update prepaid series that do not have an expiry date to a single set date. Please note: We cannot alter expiry dates that have already been set.
If you are not running POS Version 8.1.10.16 or higher your Series Liability Report will run over multiple pages., ensure you keep your system updated with the latest POS version.
How will redeeming unwanted prepaid series affect my Trading Summary report?
Redeeming series will increase your amount of revenue taken on the day, but will also decrease your liabilities, as shown on your Trading Summary report.

I’ve found Series without expiry dates, but I’m ok with customers redeeming them. Now what?
Great! You don’t need to do anything with Series customers have already purchased. However, it’s also worth setting up an expiry date on Series going forward.
