Creating and Managing Promotions in Shortcuts

The Promotions feature in Shortcuts allows businesses to create and manage custom promotions that are automatically applied at the point of sale. This guide outlines the steps to set up and customize promotions effectively.

Accessing Promotions

  1. Navigate to Setup:

    • Go to the Setup menu.

    • Scroll down and select Promotions.

  2. View Existing Promotions:

    • The Promotion Setup Screen provides an overview of current promotions, including:

      • Promotion Name

      • Number of Sales

      • Maximum Sales

      • Start and End Dates

      • Status

      • Type

    • Use checkboxes to view completed or inactive promotions.

  3. Manage Promotions:

    • Edit: Modify an existing promotion.

    • Copy: Duplicate an existing promotion.

    • Delete: Remove a promotion.

    • View Details: Review and edit specific promotion details.


Creating a New Promotion

Step 1: Enter Promotion Details

  • Basic Information:

    • Name and Description

    • Availability and Target Audience

  • Optional Settings:

    • Coupon Requirement

    • Club and Program eligibility

    • Maximum Sales Allowed

    • Current Status and Sales Count

  • Validity Period:

    • Set start and end dates.

Step 2: Define Promotion Eligibility

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Specific Items in Sale: Require specific services, products, or sundry items.

    • Total Spend on Items: Set a minimum spend requirement on selected items.

    • Total Spend in Sale: Base eligibility on the total bill amount.

    • Repeat Purchases: Offer benefits for purchasing items over multiple visits.

    • Cumulative Spend: Track spending over time to meet a dollar value.

  • Purchase Conditions:

    • Minimum Spend: Define a minimum purchase amount.

    • Item Selection:

      • All of: Requires purchase of all specified items.

      • Any of: Allows purchase of any specified items to qualify.

Step 3: Set Promotion Benefits

  • Types of Benefits:

    • Percentage Discount: Apply a percentage reduction.

    • Dollar Discount: Offer a fixed dollar amount off.

    • Item Discounts:

      • Discount specific items or the entire sale.

      • Apply fixed price per item.

    • Cost-Based Discounts:

      • Cost price or gross margin percentage reduction.
